Day 22 - Stop!

Three more sleeps until Christmas Day!

Have you got everything done yet?

Depending on whether you're reading this in the morning or the evening you might have a full day ahead or you've just collapsed into bed after a busy day.

Most of the blogs in the Picture Perfect Advent Calendar have been about stopping, taking time out and focusing on Jesus.

Is that part of your plan for today?

It would be so easy for you to scroll through this blog and rush on to the next thing there is to do, but I'm asking you to stop!

Take time out to reflect and rest in God.

Below there are a Scriptures to meditate on, quotes to explore and music to help you focus. Resist the temptation to scroll through and move on with your day.

We often like the sound of resting in God but aim to get around to it once our to-do list is complete. This Christmas it's time for us to stop!

Come and see the fearsome things the Lord has done on earth. God brings wars to an end all over the world. He breaks the arrows, shatters the spears, and burns the shields. Our God says, ‘Calm down and learn that I am God”.

Psalm 46:8-10 CEV

‘But this beautiful treasure is contained in us - cracked pots made of earth and clay - so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as coming from God and not from us. We are cracked and chipped from our afflictions on all sides, but we are not crushed by them. We are bewildered at times, but we do not give in to despair. We are persecuted, but we have not been abandoned. We have been knocked down, but we are not destroyed.’

2 Corinthians 4:7-9

“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.”

1 Corinthians 14:33
