Calling all bookworms!
I love reading, so this page is a chance to share with you some of my favourite books.
A Walk One Winter Night by Al Andrews
We think we know the characters of the nativity so well, but have we really stopped to consider the Christmas story from their perspective. This beautiful book encourages us to withdraw from the busyness of Christmas and take a fresh look at the nativity scene. Also, have a listen to the song 'Real' by Nichole Nordeman, based around 'A Walk One Winter Night.'
How to like Paul again by Conrad Gempf
This extract, read with permission from the author, introduces a different perspective regarding the Apostle Paul. Biblical details and theological dilemmas are explored in a way that is accesible and fun to read. By the end of the book, you may have a new perspective on the Apostle Paul, which may, or may not, help you to like him again!
Love Story by Nichole Nordeman
This is my absolute favourite book by my favourite singer song writer. In 'Love Story' Nichole Nordeman revisits the stories of well-known Bible characters. She imagines a modern-day Saul, connects with the pain of Job and gives a new perspective on the thief on the cross. The book is linked to the 'Music Inspired by the Story' soundtrack so you can listen to the songs as you read the related chapter.
Awaken by Priscilla Shirer
If you're looking for a daily devotional book then Priscilla Shirer's 'Awaken' is beautifully written. It provides space to journal responses to the daily readings and gives question prompts for each day. There are 90 days of devotions taking you through a range of themes and I thoroughly recommend this book.
